The Microsoft Office 2000 package is a superb package upgrade from Office 97 and most users that are still using 97 or 95 or even below that 2000 is your best bet. Although still rather expensive it is worth the money since you get so much out of it. The simplicity and ease of use is more than enough to satisfy your everyday needs. If you already have Office 2000 and maybe have some cash to spare and considering the upgrade to Office XP (2002) I don’t think you’ll be very happy after forking out a few hundred quid only to find out that all you spent your money on was an upgrade for the GUI (Graphical User Interface). Office XP is probably really the last ... Read the complete review

Microsoft have a habbit of releasing (or re-releasing) 'new' versions of thier software on a regular basis. This is the brand new version of thier very popular (and very good) office suite. It caters for all of your office needs, wether you are a GCSE student or a university academic. The core of the package is 'Word' (word processing), 'Excel' (spreadsheets), 'Access' (databases) and 'Powerpoint' (presentations). Other extras that are of no real use are also thrown in, but are quite nice none the less. The whole thing works very well together and is very stable. Internet options and links are ... I dont think that there can be any question that the Office Suite is the best applications suite out there but the question that begs to be asked is that is it worth upgrading to each new version. How much does Microsoft add to each new upgrade, what it actually adds is better compatability with latest operating systems and the latest versions of other software. But in terms of actually being a new program you could argue that Microsoft only threw a couple of new features into each app so they could call it an upgrade. The 2000 suite has everything that the 97 version had and a little bit more, I have to admit that some of the extra features made me want this ... Read the complete review

Most people will want to know whether it is worth upgrading from Office '97 and I would say probably not. One of the main improvement over Office '97 is that you can have up to twelve items on the clipboard at once. This was particularly useful in Excel where I tend to copy bits of data between work books. Another useful feature is in Word, where you can now right click the mouse on a word and see several synonyms without having to open the thesaurus. If you want to change fonts you can now see an example of the font next to its name. If like me you have lots if fonts loaded this is a great advantage. Microsoft have also improved the file diplay so that ... Read the complete review

After I installed my Office 2000, I was recommended to check the Microsoft web site for any updates.. and what a surprise I was in for.. there were so many updates and patches (over 25Mb).. when I saw that I didn't bother with any patches, and I do realise that my Office 2000 isn't very security concious at the moment, but I don't want to spend all the time downloading all these patches.. At the moment I am having no problems with Word or Excell.. although Microsoft Outlook keeps bugging me to fix a problem, which I do.. but the same problems keeps coming up again and again (i've given up on that.. sticking to Outlook Express).. All in ... Read the complete review
