Advantages: Simple, effective tool for improving communication

To sum this up in a nutshell it is MSN Messenger for Company use. Deployment is very easy but I can't go into that in any detail because my infrastructure team implemented this but they assure me it was easy and painless, it was rolled out to the rest of the Company using Group Policy.

What advantages does it have?

Well you can share desktops very easily, I run a development department and it has increased productivity because people can share desktops to ask relevant questions.

Apart from that, the rest of the company picked up it's use very quickly because it is so like MSN Messenger, it also improved commnuication throughout the business, because it is linked to Active Directory (or Outlook in layman terms) it knows when you are in a meeting, it also knows if you stepped away from your desk because of the lack of activity on your PC.

If you want to get into to some rather clever, complex stuff it is also very useful when hooked into MOSS 2007 (Sharepoint), you can run some complex workflows based on your availability.

Enjoy, one of the better MS applications out there and very easy to teach / install!
