Advantages: All the advantages of VB: userfriendly, relatively easy to learn and use

Disadvantages: More awkward than previous versions

The latest version of Microsoft's popular language, Visual Basic. A quote springs to mind here, something along the lines of standing on the shoulders of giants... version 6 inherits something amazing, yet squanders it wholesale, I'm afraid.

Visual Basic has always been one of the easiest of object orientated languages to use, being simple for beginners and advanced for, well, erm, advancers :) - ie experts :)

A pity then that version 6 seems to bring little extra, in fact it actually seems more of a disappointment than much of an improvement :O

It annoyed me, to be honest.

The worst of my niggles is the way V B is now far, far more stricter with its syntax, asking for brackets here, no brackets there, where once it would be happy with either.

More awkward than it used to be, stick to v5 :)

I would have given this VU if you had written it assuming that most people don't have any knowledge of this. You need to enlarge on this a bit!
