Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Very hard to understand

I am studying Advanced GNVQ IT at college and am learning C++ amongst other things!, i absolutly hate it!, i have never come across anything so hard!, no wonder people who do it as a career get so well paid!!, however i am finding it a little easier as i progress!, but very slowly!, Visual Basic i believe is much easier to do and to understand!, maybe because you can actually design what is shown on screen rather than just all typing!!
I am only able to produce the simple of programs at the moment but i am getting better at making more complex ones.
Hopefully C++ will become unused!!, one can only wish!!!
I dont recommend it!!

Yeah i agree, this opinion wasnt really an opinion. You say you hope it wont be used in the future but as with any programming language they all have their strengths and weaknesses and obviously this language is quite complex and used by the more advanced programmer.

I just wanted to leave a comment with the NU, just to explain.

I thought that your op didn't really say anything about the package. (Which I have and personally like, although I would have given you a good rating if you said why you dislike MS VC++ as opposed to why you dislike C as a language)

Good luck with the language anyway - it's simple once you get the hang of it, and it is the one you'll need to know if you've any aspirations to become a serious programmer.

Visu al Basic is not a "proper" programming language. It's not really used in the real world. (For reasons you will discover!)
