Visual InterDev 1.0 was Microsoft's first real attempt at a web development tool. It allowed you to create, publish, and manage dynamic web applications and included powerful tools for creating robust database applications. Microsoft Interdev is probably Microsoft's best kept secret. It is, put simply, FrontPage on steroids. It has everything, WYSYWIG design, extremely powerful html editing capabilities and add to that everything you could possibly need to create ASP (Active Server Pages). It colour codes your code, it automatically finishes command off for you, it helps you debug your application, it can verify your datasources, the list goes on. OK, being an ASP programmer im very fond of Microsoft products and integration between the technologies. Visual InterDev, as part of the excellent Visual Studio, is simply another string in my bow. If you work with SQL database integration and dynamic pages then you will find InterDev's visual database tools a real timesaver, Also sourcesafe for team development is a must nowadays in crowded web agencies.
