Advantages: It's child's play to design a good web site
Disadvantages: FTP didn't work for me
Web Express - in my opinion - is one of the best WYSIWYG web design packages there is for beginners. And I even think many advanced web designers can get a lot out of it. I got this software very cheap as part of an introductory offer from a (kinda) software club - homesoftwareworld. They offered a choice of five software packages for £10.00 and since I wanted to build a web site for myself I ordered it. And I can only say again - it's simply brilliant. It offers a very wide range of features, including cascading windows, inclusion of any kind of multimedia in your site, testing your design in your choice of browser - it's basically MS Word for web design. And it's unbelievably easy to use! Apart from the actual text on your site (unless you've already got it and 'copy and paste') you can design your whole site with your mouse. You can also include java, html and pretty much any other scripts and Web Express will leave those untouched. The only slight setback with the program is (but may be that's just me) that the FTP function just wouldn't do anything - so I used cuteFTP to upload my site. But as I said - it does have an FTP-function - and maybe the problem is that I'm just too thick to work it out.
