Napster was something new and that it could save people a lot of money. It was a major company that let people download whatever kind of music that they wanted to and had chat rooms and let you talk to people by using instant messages.

Things seems to go into a downward spiral after much publicity said that it was ruining the music industry and that it would have to be stopped. This blew over, but in a few months, things became really heated and it looked like the beginning of the end for Napster. Each and every day around April or May, song after ong became unavailable and within a few weeks, you needed to sign up for a membership, using your own money.

Around the middle of May, I was told by a friend about something called Morpheus. I honestly didn't think that this would be a patch on Napster, but I was very wrong. I don't believe that the chatting on Morpheus is anywhere near as good as Napster, but that's the only negative I have spotted so far.

For one, the actual layout of Morpheus is easier to understand and is therefore better. If you get cut off from your computer and you think that your download will be cancelled and you will have to start again, you would be wrong. You could do about 30% of a song and then come back the next day anf finish it off, as the person you download it from can vary during a download.

Another major upside is the fact that you can download video clips. This is a great addition as you could download your favourite music video or whatever pleases yourself.

There are also options to download documents, images, a section for other and the chance to download software. I am still fairly new to the software aspect, but on Saturday, I downloaded something called a 'Download Accelerator' that has proved to be very useful for me, when downloading songs, etc.

To be honest, I really don't know what other things you can download on Morpheus, but so far, I have been a
ble to get any song that I have requested, any type of music video and also this new and productive piece of software.

Trust me on this, go and download Morpheus. I truly think that it is the best type of thing of its genre.
