Advantages: Ideal for converting CD's to MP3.

Disadvantages: A bit clunky as a player.

You’ve got to hand it to the makers of MusicMatch Jukebox. You get a decent player and a way to convert you CD collection to MP3 (can’t stand the term ripping!) all in one for free. I actually subscribed for the upgrade (for $25) which is supposed to give a better-recorded output. Can’t say I noticed must of a difference from the free version though!
Recording using MusicMatch couldn’t be easier and you get a nice graphic display showing how far the recording process for a track has gone.
MusicMatch is jam packed full of features. My favourite is the convert option. It allows you to convert WAV files to MP3 and back again as well as changing the bitrate on your MP3 files (the higher the bitrate, the greater the quality of sound). This features facility is also a drawback because as a player MusicMatch is not as streamlined as other players such as Winamp and Sonique. It takes up a colossal 4 mb on your hard drive which dwarfs most other players. With an old PC opening MusicMatch can take an eternity while Winamp can appear in half the time. You also tend to get a few more crackles and skips than with Winamp if the bitrate on a file is low. All in all MusicMatch is ideal for converting you CD collection to MP3 but you’d be better off sticking with Winamp as a straight-on player.
