Advantages: free, easy to use

Disadvantages: has few songs now

Napster is a program which you download from napster.com, it gives you the ability to search for and download music from the databases of other napster users.Depending on the speed of your comupter an average song can be downloaded in 15/20 mins. This means other napster users can upload that song of you.
Before the court injunction napster had almost every song you could ever think of, at the moment they have very few songs from major artists, which is why alternatives such as Morpheus are prefered. Having said that Napster still has songs from unsigned artists and unknown bands which are worth checking out.
The best bit about Napster is not only can you share songs you can also add other users to your contacts list and view their songs or talk to them via messages....a few months ago i would have highly recomended this program but now i would say napster alternatives are better.
