Advantages: Easy to use!, Free at the moment!

Napster was founded in may 1999 by Shawn Fanning.
Napster is known as the leading file sharing program on the internet, if you asked somebody to tell you what napster was i am sure 75% could tell you.
With over 50 million registered users Napster has been getting more and more popular over the last 2 years,more and more people signing up to it.

The main reason i use napster is more as a try before you buy to see whether what i am about to purchase is worth the hard earned money i am about to spend on it.

Why napster?that is what i am going to answer in the following paragraphs all the features of napster and i am going to tell you a little bit more about it!

The program it's self:
Napster is currently at V 2.0 beta 10.3.
The napster program has got a simple to use layout with options all along the top these options being:

-Home which will show you the home page to napster.com which tells you all the news about napster all about the napster service also new groups which napster are promoting.

-Chat this gives you the option to chat with all the other users of the napster community with around 100 chat rooms and the option to create your own room this is a very popular part of napster.

-My files this is where allthe mp3 files on your cpu are shown and the good thing about napster is the option to play songs throught the built in napster audio player.

-Search this is where you find the songs that you wish to download, there is a little search box with options beside it to help you find the exact version you want of that song.

-Hot List this is where you are able to add your buddies onto the list so you can chat to them whilst you download you fav songs.

-Transfer this is where you track the progress of your incoming and outgoing songs.

-Discover is the part of napster where they promote hot new talent which you may have never heard before give it a go there m
ay be the next stars there!

-Help this is the last option to your right where you are able to search the FAQ send off for help the aim of this section is to make the napster experiance as easy and trouble free as possible.

Napster is free so why not give it a go?

Currently napster is not at it's very best due to the copyright laws and certain artists setting up lawsuits against napster alought napster say they have a new service where it will cost a small fee but the downloads you get will be of a better quality and all songs will be available as they are working with the record labels.At it's optimum napster really is a superb piece of software well worth having if you are a keen music fan!
