Advantages: Fool-proof!!!

Disadvantages: Often includes incomplete tracks

Napster is an extraordinarily simple tool for downloading mp3s from the net. Having had no prior experience in dealing with mp3s, I picked up reams of information from using Napster and had no difficulty in downloading the mp3s.

The drawback of Napster, however, is that sometimes there are incomplete tracks to download and it is quite frustrating to download half a track. The other problem is when the person you are trying to download from goes offline, leading to a transfer error.

Something that I only recently picked up was that you should try and download off somebody with a low 'ping' value because it makes the download quicker and that you can force a queued transfer, though it does slow down the rate of all transfers.
