Advantages: Easy to use, play NES games on the PC!!

Disadvantages: May ruin the memory of games when they turn out to be pretty rubbish

I'll spare you the legal ramblings, I know you wouldn't use this emulator illegally, I'll just tell you that Nesticle is probably the best (and certainly the best named!) NES Emulator around.

It's is simplicity itself to use, and does the emulation job brilliantly, including sound in most cases. It also has some great features, like being able to view and record movies from your games, so you can send your friends a movie of you defeating Bowser in Super Mario Brothers for example.

You can also save your game at any point, the emulator simply takes a snapshot of what is in the memory and can easily go straight back to that exact moment, an unbelievably useful feature for some of the more difficult games, especially if you get stuck at a particular place each time.

Nesticle is a very well written emulator, there are a lot of ROM's in Nesticle format, and is so easy to use for a quick nostalgia trip. Just remember - stay legal!
