NOD32 - stupid name but STUPENDOUS programme. (NOD32)

Advantages: Extremely reliable, inexpensive & fast.

Disadvantages: Not ideal for complete beginners.

I have Used NOD32 now for two years and agree fully with the views of the previous reviewers. NOD32 really is the most effective Antivirus programme I have ever used; it also scans the fastest & has never produced a false positive. NOD32 does require a bit of setting up though when it is installed, if you want to get the best out of it; not ideal for someone who has never used a computer before.

NOD32 is extremely quick at catching viruses before they infect your computer & the "warning" splash screen cannot easily be ignored.

As with all antivirus programmes, it is VERY important to update regularly (preferably daily) & do a full scan of your computer, at least once per week; also if an infection is suspected.

Occasionally, all antivirus programs (including NOD32)find a virus that is very difficult to remove. In this case, If you have Windows XP, you need to disable System Restore (copies of viruses can hide there). Restart the computer in Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly on start up). Then run the antivirus programme; this should then remove the offending virus. Restart the computer normally (& enable System Restore). Hey Presto! - a virus free computer again.
