	Audacity ... by point as well as offering a comprehensive assortment of tools. These include a noise remover and speed edit facility. These are extremely useful for putting vinyl onto the computer in mp3 format as crackles and pops can be removed. The speed is adjustable by as much as you want but has pre-sets for converting between 33 and 45 rpm. Tracks can also be split and merged so one side of a record can be recorded then split afterwards. Multiple tracks can also be recorded and moved in relation to each other to sync them properly. I was moving to uni recently and was wanting to take my film collection and rather than take all my DVDs I was looking for a a program that would allow me to easily convert my films to .avi type files or similar and let me store them on an external hard drive.
