... to the point where i had to - and i am surprised at how good it is. Paint Shop has most of the tools that Adobe Photoshop has but they tend to be a little less flexible and not as obvious how to use them. I have also found that the tools are very similar to those in Photoshop so even if they don't work in exactly the same way, you already have a pretty good idea how to use them. I am particularly impressed by the 'paste as new file' option which would be useful in Photoshop. All in All, I would stil...more

Premium Review Paint Shop Pro 6.0: Wonderfull program for the home user (314 words)

I dont buy many Applications due to the sheer expense of them, but this one lept out at just the right price. I have my own WebSite to look after and so some sort or art package is certainly required. While trying out all the shareware versions of these programs, I got to like Paint Shop Pro. At first this program struck me as being an art package, a sort of far superior version of MS Paint for instance. But after using the program for a while I discovered there is so much more to it than that. There is capability for vector editing and layered drawings. There was all the things I find in the more expensive programs. While playing about with designs ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not Just For Experts  (213 words)

This is an excellant product that has been always rated as one of the best (more budget) graphics and art applications available for ages. An since the previous version there has been very little changes in the structure and use of many of the low end tools but a difference in the supporting file formats. Although it may seem really complicated for the beginner to start with once mastering the techniques of the application you can produce/change some stunning images. I have often used this above other art applications simply because of its ease of use and I would very much rate this for changing ammending photos and any web graphics as it is simply a breeze ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Paint Shop Pro 6.0: Jasc gets better and better!! (206 words)

A couple of years ago I used a demo version of Paint Shop Pro 5.0 and desperately wanted it! I got it for that christmas and was using it and reading the manual all over the seasonal period. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and got more and more experienced using it. All my graphics from that day on were made using it. Recently Jasc brought out version 6.2 and the program gets from better to fantastic! I would recommend this paint program, that I use to make graphics and animations for my website and edit my photos for my site as well, to any beginner and advanced user alike. The tutorials are easy to follow and there are always updates from the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review PSP Bliss (266 words)

I have used PSP for many years now, through all its versions, and I feel that version 6 has a lot to offer... If you didn't know this, Paint Shop Pro, developed by "Jasc Software" has been around for a long time, and is leading the market in budget graphics utilities. I for one, use it a great deal for designing web page graphics, and defacing photos of people I dislike! ;-) It is a free download, although hefty for 56k users (yes, I am one - long live analogue...) but it is certainly worth it. PSP is shareware and has a 30 day trial - after 60 days you won't be able to run the program. The idea is you have to pay to use it after the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Paint Shop Pro 6.0: Simply the best low budget graphics program (148 words)
by - written on 25/09/00 (Very useful, 56 readings)

Paint Shop Pro is a must for all designers/family users/experts. It is an exceptionally good graphics program with a good range of tools for a low price. Paint shop Pro lets you view a whole load of different graphics files and also lets you create your own graphics. the deformations are not all that good, but you can download plug-ins (add on files for the program) which give you a whole new range of image deformations and tools to play with, including lighting & 3D effects. Paint shop costs about £60, but you can download a free 30 day trial of the program if you want to try it out first. A very good budget package which i would recoomend ...  Read the complete review

Products similar to Paint Shop Pro 6.0

it does exactly what it says, 30 day free trial nearly 20 GBP after 30 days

Lots of features, easy layout, make audio cds from mp3s is slightly out of date

It's free and it does everything a professional photographer could want It has so many features it could take a while to find your way around

Excellent features, very easy to use. Sadly, it doesn't as yet allow mp3 encoding (from CD to mp3) but it will create wma files from wave files (wma are similar to mp3 compression, but without the ID3)
