Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: not as flexible as I had hoped
HA HA HA!!................. I thought that would get ure attention, I was only joking!! Anyway... I was massively disappointed when my boss refused to fork out for Photoshop for me, especially as i already had training in Photoshop. When Paint Shop Pro was dumped on my desk, i was determined not to touch it, out of principle. Anyway, it got to the point where i had to - and i am surprised at how good it is. Paint Shop has most of the tools that Adobe Photoshop has but they tend to be a little less flexible and not as obvious how to use them. I have also found that the tools are very similar to those in Photoshop so even if they don't work in exactly the same way, you already have a pretty good idea how to use them. I am particularly impressed by the 'paste as new file' option which would be useful in Photoshop. All in All, I would still use Photoshop given the choice but the difference in Price makes Paint Shop the best of the rest and much more tempting to the home PC user.
