I have downloaded the beta version of PP7, it's a brilliant improvement, I look at 6 and I realise how basic it really is compared to 7. Maybe its because they have dramatically improved the selection tool, with loads more shapes, maybe because the raster vector tool has dozens of pre set shapes,or that the browse feature(a ... I dont buy many Applications due to the sheer expense of them, but this one lept out at just the right price. I have my own WebSite to look after and so some sort or art package is certainly required. While trying out all the shareware versions of these programs, I got to like Paint Shop Pro. This is an excellant product that has been always rated as one of the best (more budget) graphics and art applications available for ages. Actually this opinion is on version 7 which I have just aquired and not version 6 although the basics are the same. Paint shop Pro has never been an easy programm to use but once you get into it it all sticks together and is worthwhile. Its well worth sticking to as the results are fantastic for the price. I found Paint Shop 5 on a cover CD as a freebie and have found it to be excellent, capable of things far beyond my limited artistic skills! One thing which is lacking is that when you save an image as a .jpg, there is no option to compress which is essential if you want to send stuff as email attachments or as embedded items. For this, ... Read the complete review

This piece of software and Photoshop are probably the two most used on the internet and they are the two tools that I use. For a beginner I would recommend this as a starter option and ... Read the complete review
