Advantages: Better preview and printing options.

Disadvantages: Harder to use?At this price, who cares?

I`ve read some of the good reports of fellow dooyoo`ers on this programme and wanted to echo their sentiments.I`ve used PSP since version 4.12 and have loved every one for the continued persitance of JASC with PSP`s best features.
The image browser in PSP is missing from many higher priced competitors software, which makes PSP v6.x (and now version 7) such good value.
The Print Preview option is about the best available in any package at this price,or more expensive. In v6.x you can print multiple images on a page. Perhaps Paint Shop Pro is not as powerful in the manipulation tools area as Adobe Photoshop v*.x ,but at this price I can`t complain.I won`t,I`ll heap praises on JASC for all their efforts to be so fair with the price of PSP considering the capabilities of the programme.
This fine company is so trusting it will allow a time limited demo to be used by anyone to see how good it realy is.That`s how I first started with PSP,I`m glad I did.
Try www.jasc.com and go to evaluation software for a copy to try it out, then I`ll bet you buy it after a month!
( By the way,I have to use software supplied by my company on my machine at work to manipulate images. This stuff stinks,so I bought a copy of PSP v6.x to use at work,it saves me so much stress.Don`t tell the Big Bwana ,he would`nt understand.Let`s pay XX Hundred quid it must be good,he says.Soft sod!)
Having evaluated my upgrade to v.7,I`ll say it`s a worthwhile improvement, they(JASC)should call it "little PhotoShop"--it`s that good.
There are in this version some powerful photo adjustment tools not seen before, however, these take up substantial resources.I would not recommend using this set of tools with less than a PII 400 with 128 Mhz of RAM.Hardcore image editing requires a powerful machine,at least PSP v7.0 makes a good compromise between facilities and hardware requirements and adds a few touches PhotoShop does`nt have.

Updates are usualy available from JASC free
of charge for registered users.

It is a shame true upgrades from very early versions of ALL software are`nt given prefferential discounts.Loyalty deserves recognition. We don`t all need to upgrade with each issue, developers take note.

28/01/2001.
An upgrade to v7.01 is pending now at JASC .com,keep an eye open!

I have been monitoring this situation. There have been obvious personal attacks against this member. The inspiration and source of the attacks is also obvious. Accusations have been made, abuse given and what appears to be a threat of physical violence.
Any accusation must be supported by evidence. The attackers should, however, be aware of the Data Protection Act and it`s contents.
Astro has confronted these attacks magnificently, meeting abuse without reciprocating.

I intend to continue monitoring this situation. If the attacks continue I will contact the dooyoo Management Team for its input.

I am posting this commentary on each of Astro`s opinions. The attackers will therefore be made aware of my intentions.
