Titanium is intended to be an antivirus program that can be installed and forgotten about, and it certainly delivers on that promise.

So why Titanium? It is not as well known as some of its competitors, but can prove just as effective at half the price!

It's very simple to use with a good clear interface and no unnecessary complicated options.

The best thing about this is that it works at the Winsock level. In other words, it scans files/email as they are being transmitted to your PC, that?s before they even reach your hard disk! Other AV software scans the files AFTER they are stored on your hard drive.

This method of detection has an additional major benefit, it practically resides invisibly on your machine using very little system resources and does not slow down your machine. This won me over after using McAfee and finding my machine grind to a halt!

Updates are available daily, meaning at times you are more protected than those with Norton or McAfee as they only receive updates a few times a week. The software also updates itself automatically in the background so you don't have to worry about that either.

It also scans file faster using what they call "UltraScan" technology, and I have to agree it thoroughly checked my PC in half the time it took for the free AVG anti-virus software to complete.

At around £20 it?s a real bargain, although if I have to give one criticism, its that you have to renew the software after a year for about £15 to keep receiving updates. But this seems to be the way all anti-virus software is going.
