I bought Philips Freespeech 2000 for £10. I got a headset with it. The software itself proved a complete waste of money for me but at least I had the headset. This is third speech recognition programme I have bought and it performed no better and no worse than the others. Bought Freespeech 98 for the bargain price of £5.00 GBP Spent another £10.00 on a good microphone (You need a decent headset style Microphone for any such prog.) Training: Time intensive, but it really works. Constantly improves the recognition and a few spare minutes spent on training more than pays off. End usage: Within Microsoft Word. You need to also speak the 'formatting commands', so a sentence that reads 'Boy George, the famous singer, and now DJ.' Would have to voiced as: 'new paragraph boy george comma the famous singer comma and now dj fullstop' For this reason alone I would never find this product to be of benefit.
