Powerquest Partition Magic 5.0

I bought Partition Magic 5 because I wanted to partition my hard disk so that I can use both linux and windows at the same time. I could do it manually (ie. back up all data, format the entire hard disk, repartition hard disk, install windows + all software *again* and install linux... phew!) but it would take two or three hours at least. So, i took the easy route... I bought Partition Magic 5.0 and let it do everything for me, and it only took half an hour. Where would I be without good old PM 5.0? Being a sys admin, shuffling servers and disk space about quickly and effectively is the difference between job and no job! Especially when backups fail to run! PM 5.0 is the latest tool out for managing partition sizes, boot partitions for different operating systems on the same machine and distribution of disk space over multiple fixed disks. All this it does with excellent reliability. The installation takes no time at all and you are up and running looking at your disk structure. I bought a copy of Partiton Magic 5.0 after using version 3 and being really impressed with how easy it was to use . There is no doubt that the series of PQMagic programs are excellent but I have to say I really thought that this product was very poor . I installed it and went to repartition my drive to install linux on a second partition . Before the program started up it bombed out with a message box displaying text along the lines of 'error number 096 . terminating' . I looked up the error in the manual with no help , tried the dos version and was told that I needed to reboot the machine and try again to start the program . I will be honest up frront and say I do not own version 5 of Partition Magic (PM) but have bought versions 2, 3 and 4 and so feel no benefit in upgrading. The fact remains that I have never bought any system utility other than this and cannot recommend it more highly. So what does it do? It can practically double you disk space and make you a little more secure from corruption. A hard disk is essentially like a pie, this being a figurative example so please don't take it too literally, and can be divided up in different ways. Powerquest Partition Magic 5.0 : Powerquests partition magic is probably the best utility I have bought for my PC. Ok, I don’t use all of its advanced features, but the MAIN feature I bought it for was the partitioning system. You may recall that when you buy a new PC, it only has one drive.. C. Using P.Magic you can change that to as many as you want. The partition it create are for real, no virtual business here, and the Very user friendly way it does it makes it simple.
