Advantages: Realistic sounds

Disadvantages: May be complicated for complete novices

After using reason for a number of years i can safely say that it is one of the most powerful music production tools that is avalible for windows. It is easy to use once you know what you are doing (takes a few hours) and unlike software such as Fruity Loops creates a realistic sound with your music production.

It has a number of samplers and synthesizers (with the ability to add more) which each create their own style and sounds to the software. However, one thing which limits it in a way that other music software isnt is the fact that it can not support Vst's. This is a slight downside but from personal experience i would say that it does not need them due to the amount of possible instruments and synthesizer combinations that are avalible in it.

For those who are slightly more knowledgeabe in music production there is the opportunity to virtually wire in additional effects to your instruments and synthesizers to create extra effects etc.

Overall it is a very good piece of software for all to use although it might be slightly harder to use for those who have little exerience in music production.
