For people who have only used standalone programs such as the Xing encoder to make their MP3s, using a codec will be a bit different. The main difference when using a codec such as the Radium-enhanced Fraunhofer codec is that there is no user interface. The interaction with the encoder (i.e. setting the bitrate etc) is all done through your existing audio software. In most cases this will be a ripper (I recommmend AudioGrabber) or an audio editor (such as Sound Forge).
