I download a lot of MP3 files every week. I store all these in one folder, my hard drive is clogged full of them. Categorizing them is awkward as putting them all in one folder makes it hard to find the mp3 file i want. I use Windows media player and Real Player to play music files, but now i have found a easy way to store, categorize and play mp3 files, Real Jukebox Plus. Its a tool from Real Networks for £25 ( you can get the basic version for free but has limited tools and options). If you have Real player already, then you will get this for £20, but i still think its a decent price to pay even if there is more jukeboxes out there.


Downloading And Setup

Firstly, you will have to go to http://www.real.com and it will give you a choice to download either real jukebox basic or real jukebox plus. If you want limited features then you will choose basic but if your prepared to pay then you should choose the plus package. It will then ask you to put in your credit card details and you address, once that has been done you can opt to download the program or have it sent to you by CD-ROM. If youve choose to download then you will be given the download screen and you will be given a list of server locations, pick the one nearest to you and select download. The file will be 6mb or it will be 3mb if you already have real player installed (PLEASE NOTE: you will need realplayer installed for this to work). The file should take around 20 mins to download on a normal conventional modem.
Once downloaded you will need to find the setup file on your computer. The setup process will take around 5 minutes as it needs to intergrate partly with real player. It will ask you for the installation location and if you want to make startup and start menu icons. Once installed its there for you to use.

Rm, Wma,Wav and Mp3 files on your computer. You are able to play Audio cds, download music from the mp3.com website and create playlists in which too play. Encoding to various digital music formats is easy with this and recording cds onto your hard drive is usefull too. Also with the plus version you can install an update which allows you to use your cd writer with real jukebox.

-From audio cds, record tracks from cd ( you choose which ones) and them save them as a mp3 or wav file onto your computer. This is so you dont need the cd every time you want to listen to the song.

- Able to work with portable music players as long as you choose to update it from the menu. Also you can download an add on for this which lets you burn songs from real jukebox onto a cd to make audio cds to play in a cd player.

- Downloadable features that allow you to convert the music files you have into every single music format there is available to play on different players, also there is software which makes the sound of your files different.

-You can add details on bands,artist,genres and even cd cover art and photos to the artists in real jukebox, an excellent feature.

Encoding is changing a music files Bitrate rate to make the sound clearer. This is done by turning up noises within the music files Information. Qualities Range from 8 to 320 kbps, all of this is supported in real jukebox. 320 Kbps is perfect cd quality, 8kbps is the sort of quality you would expect from a noisey radio station. This is a useful tool and i hope my brief tutorial has helped you somwhat.

If you are prepared to pay for a jukebox then i highly recommend you download this. Its got everything you need. If you want to somthing free then you can choose the basic package but it has very limited features, although you could go for music match, but the layout is poor for that and is complicated.
