As a web application, Real Player is probably the best method of utilising streaming media. Sadly for Real Networks, the software developers of this application, a large number of websites using video media prefer to use Windows Media Player to Real. Real Player Plus plays streaming audio/video on the net. It takes a while for it to start up. The layout is good. It's easy to use. It does have more functions than the free Basic version, but to be honest i've never ever used them, cos what is the point of using the equalisers when you already know the sound isn't the best. The extra controls for video are ok, it has contrast and brightness.. nothing much more. I've never used any of those links on the right side.. they are there if you want to listen to radio music or news. (that's also available in the basic verion).
