I got my hands on SNES9x over 3 years ago and played a year or so out of it, still do off and on. The interface is easy to use in that you can load your game ROM easily from the file menu and get up and running in no time at all with little or no experience needed. (ROMs can be obtained online but must be deleted unless you have the original cartridge). To control games you are able to use more than one method, 1 use the keyboard but this can become tricky when you have 6 buttons the d-pad and start and select to assign and remember, or 2 use a game pad, I invested in a logic 3 game pad which looked exactly like the model they produced for the SNES, ...

The SNES was a classic console. I do not care what level of performance, power and graphics new consoles and PC’s reach, I rate the SNES as the machine whose games I most enjoyed playing. The fact that the average person with Web access can now play a huge pile of these classic games free is incredible. Emulators are downloaded from sites like cnet.com as freeware. To play the games, one must find sites with a stock of titles. I found there is a web ring of providers of the games, which are downloaded as .SMC extension files.
