This program is a great find. As an audio editor, it does just about everything that you could want it to. Editing is intuitive, the interface is easy on the eye (handy for longer mastering sessions) and it doesn't take a tech wizard to operate. The best features are the MP3 encoding into variable bitrate - which produces perfect results; and the 'amplitude' editing which allows very cool effects. If you want ProTools quality on a budget, and don't need loads of outboard gear, this program is an absolute gem. Download the demo (which isn't too restrictive for 30 days) and you can play about with it for a bit. This program would be ... Read the complete review

I am quite new to the realm of computer music but having a pile of old LPs, 45s and even 78s(!) I would like to play via CD I have been trying out software to help. So far Cool Edit "000 has impressed me most. It is very easy to get started with even by me a novice and it does what I want - ie enhances and cleans up my recordings. It also has many advanced features. Some of these I dont understand but that doesnt stop me making use of the rest and the help system is there for when I progress. Visually also it is clearly laid out and easy to see what is happening. I particularly appreciate clear indications of how long a task will take. ... Read the complete review
