I am quite new to the realm of computer music but having a pile of old LPs, 45s and even 78s(!) I would like to play via CD I have been trying out software to help. So far Cool Edit "000 has impressed me most. It is very easy to get started with even by me a novice and it does what I want - ie enhances and cleans up my recordings. It also has many advanced features. Some of these I dont understand but that doesnt stop me making use of the rest and the help system is there for when I progress. Visually also it is clearly laid out and easy to see what is happening. I particularly appreciate clear indications of how long a task will take.
