	Syntrillium Cool Edit Pro ... Edit Pro has to be the number 1 music software package for what it's designed for. It won't give you MIDI sequencing and has very limited video support, but it does provide a powerful solution to audio editing and multitracking. Working in a radio station, I use CEP all the time in a production environment. This is where I think that CEP excels over everything else. Speed id the name of the game and all basic tasks are simple to achieve and not time consuming. If you partner this program with a reasonably fast computer, you have a killer package that will do all you need it to do. 	Syntrillium Cool Edit 2000 ... program is a great find. As an audio editor, it does just about everything that you could want it to. Editing is intuitive, the interface is easy on the eye (handy for longer mastering sessions) and it doesn't take a tech wizard to operate. The best features are the MP3 encoding into variable bitrate - which produces perfect results; and the 'amplitude' editing which allows very cool effects. If you want ProTools quality on a budget, and don't need loads of outboard gear, this program is an absolute gem. 	Syntrillium Cool Edit 2000 ... a lot actually. for someone who can be pretty anal about sound quality, I'm really glad I bought that computer mag with the demo of CE96 on it. coz, if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have searched for CE2K when it came out. The biggest boon about this program over most others is that it can store up to 1Gb of recording time (which at 44.1KHz, stereo, 16 bit, will give you about 100 mins of rec time). Hang on, that sounds wrong. What I mean is that it will record up to 1Gb of information every time you press record.
