Ulead Cool3D ... fonts. Even free to download fonts worked fine. Text Tools: The text tools in Cool 3D are limited. I found the text editor box to be quite primitive and often hard to type into. Leading and kearning options are available along with a bold and italic styling. Execution: Once text is in place it is fairly easy to manipulate in 3D space. The ease of use is deinately a plus for this product. There are also pre built animations if you are not feeling very creative, though they are a little cheesey. Render: The rendering times were not so bad. We trialed this on many computers and it did not seem to matter the spec of the machine (pentium 3/4). Sometimes errors in... Ulead Photoimpact 5 ... you try the effect but not apply it as its 'only' in the full version, but pottering around the easy palette brings you a selection of frames you CAN apply (several of them being among the styles you're told you can't - naughty one U-Lead), as well as galleries for effects like adding Clouds and stars and snow, weather and time of day effects, and a cool painting effects gallery where you can do things like painting brick walls on your photo's. It's in this gallery that you select the size and style of your brushes and as always they are represented by thumbnails, making it incredibly easy to get the right brush and size.
