UltraPlayer UltraPlayer is great. It's modern looking, ultra modern looking, in fact it's probably the player of choice onboard the Starship Voyager. ?Janeway to Tuvok?Janeway to Tuvok JANEWAY TO TUVOK! Boy if he's listening to MP3s on UltraPlayer again I'll, I'll? hmmm that does sound good? Sorry I digress. UltraPlayer is one of many media players wanting your attention. It handles a variety of sound formats including MP3, WMA, RealAudio, MP2, MP1, WAV, CDA and more. However it?s more than just an audio player, more of which later. It features an easy to use interface, with the usual Play, Forward, Rewind, Pause ... Read the complete review

I've downloaded it... installed it... ran it... used it... and binned it. Take one look at UltraPlayer and I admitt... you think 'Wow that looks good'... you download it, and you really want to love it, it's basically the same as Windows Media Player but with less features, yes it does look good, and so do most of the skins. Ok, you've got your visulisations... many of which look like they've newly emerged from the rear of a dog, and anyway WMP and WinAmp has them, and much better for that matter. UltraPlayer is very good for one reason. You don't have to download two seperate programs to play MP3s and to watch MPEGs. With UltraPlayer you can do both. UltraPlayer has a lot of different skins, but most of them are too big and clog up the screen. When I play music I don't want some nice design on my desktop, I want to minimize it. With UltraPlayer it's not that evident and can be annoying. Each skin is different. Unlike Winamp, the buttons of different skins move with the different skins. So it is difficult to find the buttons at first, but after a while you'll get used to it. UltraPlayer is very good to hide ... Read the complete review

Well, here we've got a rather lovely alternative to Windows Media Player - until Microsoft's release of WMP7, that was. Because up until then ultraplayer was my player of choice for mp3's and cd's. Ultraplayer id free, fun and rather neat. There are some absolutely brilliant skins out there (my favourite is "skull duggery") and you can even download a 'skin developers kit', which - as the name would suggest - allows the slightly more advanced user to develop their own designs. Ultraplayer offers a reasonably good graphic equalizer, some rather nice visualizers (you can download extra one's from the ultraplayer website); ... Read the complete review
