Advantages: a good player overall tho has all that you need to watch almost any video/audio file

The most known and probably famous cd/mp3 player, winamp was probably the first reader to implement mp3 support.

Right now this program is much more than it was some time ago, winamp is a versatile player that can play:

Musical CD
DVD
MP3/almost any other music format
Divx Video if you have on your pc the right codecs
Nullsoft proprietary video/audio files

Among it's useful features there is the media library, you will find this in -view -media library,there you have many possibilities but the ones that I find most attractive are shoutcast tv and radio, I personally don't know if what is broadcasted in those channel is legally owned by broadcasters and they have the right to air it or not, but anyway those radio are great and is very easy to listen to them inside the winamp navigator, and the tv section is good enough, for the quality t will depends by the rate imputed by the broadcaster and the kind of dsl/cable or better he has at his/her disposal.

Other online possibilities of winamp are: winamp music who got some songs of the most famous artists at your disposal to listen to and aol video which has some programs available and you will only have to select what you like to watch (the program is explained in details inside it's own window in winamp) select it and watch it.

Winamp can use skins to customize it, you will find more than 2.000 skins directly at ttp://www.winamp.com/skins

Winamp has even got a nice plugins section at http://www.winamp.com/plugins with many plugins at your disposal.

winamp even has a portable section, so if you got a portable player you can probably use it to put the music on it, sorry on this one but having not got one myself I can't tell you much about that, I only go with I've heard.

Using this player from some times now I can safely say that it will work well on most pc from the modest old pc to the new one.
