Advantages: Small download, Quick to load, Great sound quality

Disadvantages: Needs tweaking to get the best out of it

After trying pretty much all the options, it's always Winamp I come back to. Reasons...

- it's a small download
- it has a small footprint on the desktop
- the sound can be customised fully using the equaliser
- the visualisations ROCK!
- it's stable

My main fault would be that to get the best sound for your own speakers/hifi system, a lot of tweaking is needed. Also, the default skin is ugly, and you always have to upgrade it at the website www.winamp.com.

Rather than enduring the slow loading of Musicmatch Jukebox, the instability of MS Mediaplayer, or the fussiness of Sonique, Winamp offers a plain, but superbly developed package.
