A Great .MP3 Player (Winamp)

I've used a few MP3 players since I can remember, Windows Media Player, Sonique etc, and then I came across Winamp.

Winamp can play almost any music/audio file format (Including Windows Media Player format .WMA) Here are just some music formats it can play: .Mid, .Midi, .MP3, .MP2, .MP1, .WAV, .CDA, .Mod, .MUS . . and believe me, many many more!

One of the first thing I noticed about Winamp, was that it is very customizable, you only get a base skin to begin with, but, access the website (http://www.winamp.com) and there are a wealth of skins available, all rated out of five stars, and with a search bar, so that you can search for a particular skin if you wish. You are bound to find one that suits your needs as there are many categories (3D, Anime, Consumption, Car, Human, Computer/OS, Futuristic, Game, Movies, Retro, Sports, Stereo, Stylish, University, Web Site, TV, Music). As you can see, many many categories!!

After you have found a skin (which is easy to install and download) You can then look for a "plug-in" if you wish. Plug ins are add ons for winamp, these can range from Audio enhancers, games, or even visulization (graphics which change according to the beat of the music) Again these are simple to download and install.

Playing a file is very simple, you can either double click on the file, or even drag it into the playlist on winamp and then just press the play button. There are a few extra controls other than stop, pause, next track etc. You can choose to make the track fadeout at any point in the song with a simple key press, you can adjust the balance, or the volume of the song with the volume bar. You can even create your own playlist and save them, so that you can listen to a collection of your favorite songs at any time instead of loading them up seperately.
