The web is covered in them... visit any good download site and search for 'media player' and theres 99.9999% chance you'll get one hell of a choice. I tried all sorts before I found WinAmp from well known Real Player, Sonique and Windows Media Player (bleurgh)... to obscurities such as K-Jofol (or something) and UltraPlayer.

Yes, I'd heard of WinAmp before but I just thought there could be some others out there with more features... of course I was wrong wasn't I.

In it's normal small 1.5mb .exe file downloadable FREE from the internet you get everything you would want... stick a cd in your computer and as long as you have an internet connection active within 20 seconds you've got the names of every track right in front of you... it come with enough visulisations (pictures that move in sync. with the music you'r listening to) to keep you busy for a good hour and is compatible with loads of file formats... what your not satisfied with just those? Just remember I've only mentioned three of hundreds more and if you go to the WinAmp site you can pick some other little feature that you like from the absolutely VAST plugin section. All for FREE!

Once you've got that little file (free)... installed WinAmp and opened it... the first impressions you'll probably get are:
'Oh damnit this is UGLY' and 'I'm going to be here forever trying to work out what all these little things do'
OK The base skin could make anyone puke but as I just mentioned it is only a skin and can be changed to any one of the thousands of obscure... amazing... and beautiful skins on the WinAmp website (for FREE!!)
And your second impression? Yup, there is a lot to work out, but surprisingly it will take you about 5 minutes to be transformed from a newbie to a WinAmp expert.

Oh and did I mention... its FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
