Advantages: Extremely good ease of use while still including advanced features.

Disadvantages: Can't change the layout of the audio player to whatever you like, the skins just changes the overall look of Winamp.

The reason for Winamps success is because it is so easy to use. It was one of the first audio players, and now it is the most popular, with no new audio players being able to shift it from the number one spot. The best feature that I found and probably most other people found as well, is the skin option; you can download any skins that take your fancy and make Winamp your own personalised program. Countless plugins allow you to support more file formats, new output formats, and also visualisation plugins, that can be a fully rendered 3D enviroment that depends on the beat of the current track that is being played! Forget all the other wannabes like Sonique and Real Player, this is the one, with eacg version just getting better and better...
