WinFax PRO 10.0

Fax facilities are far from a necessity to me, but they can be quite useful and once you have experienced the convenience of this type of medium it becomes more difficult to do without. If the only option was an expensive fax machine then I certainly would not bother, but Winfax Pro is not only a cheap alternative, it is a quality alternative. I have been using Win Fax 9.0 almost as long as I've had a computer. Maybe the reason I have had no problems is that a more experienced friend configured the modem for me, as I would not have dared to tangle with that. There is an excellent online help available from symantec.com. The program allows you to write and send faxes, giving a wide selection of cover pages which can be personalised with logos and signatures. WinFax is the best solution on the market to date for integrating modern computer technology with age old fax machines. For those already owning a PC with a Fax compatible modem this is a cheaper option than a Fax machine. Although WinFax is the best on the market this doesn't mean that it is perfect by any means. The system is generally fairly stable but ocassionaly can break down at the flick of a seamingly harmless switch due to a whole array of problems. I purchased WinFax Pro 10. and installed it on my PC. The next time I tried connecting to the internet, I got an error message that my modem was tied up by another device(obviously WinFax). They have no free customer support; their support is very expensive. I solved the modem problem by uninstalling WinFax Pro. I will not install it again, as access to the internet is a million times more important to me than using WinFax. A total waste of money ...  Read the complete review
