Fax facilities are far from a necessity to me, but they can be quite useful and once you have experienced the convenience of this type of medium it becomes more difficult to do without.
If the only option was an expensive fax machine then I certainly would not bother, but Winfax Pro is not only a cheap alternative, it is a quality alternative.
I have read a few opinions here at Dooyoo which refer to the problems of installation, a problem which I did not encounter. Setting up Winfax was a simple matter of inserting the disk, running setup and following the instructions.
Once installed, the facilities are first class. There are several pre-configured templates which can be used as a cover page, although personally I do not use them.
Unlike a conventional fax machine, there is no need to have a hard copy. Winfax can transmit a document or image from virtually any Windows based application, so if you are creating a Word document or Excel spreadsheet you can send it direct from the screen without even saving it first.
There are 2 main options for transmission, either send from the application in which it was created by selecting Winfax from the print menu, or you can drag and drop a file into the fax depot on the desktop.
I am an avid supporter of this software and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
