Bang bang, here is a new messenger from yahoo..... but... is it really new (Yahoo! Messenger)

Advantages: New introduced yahoo audibles, New animated smiley faces, direct support to Launch cast stations from messenger

Disadvantages: Still not very secure, System resource hogger, Takes good time to connect and also crashes frequently

YAHOO has launched its new messenger version 6.0. generally new version of a
software or product means addition of new of features, enhanced security, brand new look and feel but..... the fact is that despite being a version enhancement there is nothing
new in this yahoo version 6. It sucks right from the installation to the operatibility...
infact, i would say its not version upgradation, its version degradation.
During installation it tries to change your default e-mail client, tries to force you to
make yahoo mail as your default mail, tries to add yahoo's toolbar companion. Your choice doesn't matter, it gives a little room to
customize the installation. i couldn't uncheck the option of making yahoo mail
as my default mail client. It puts its icons everywhere, in start menu, quick
launch tray, explorer toolbar, desktop...everywhere.
In working, certain good features have been completely discarded. You can't go
and signup to play at yahoo games directly from the messenger. One of the biggest
disappointment for gamers. You cant join users in chat, can't go to your favorite
rooms directly ( At least you will have to hit the chat button once to go to a
particular room and only after that you would be able to access the favorite rooms
feature).
Version 6 is a system resource hogger too. Takes good time to start and fairly
good time to connect also. A very dull and slow in performance as compared to
version 5.6. It Utilize more c.p.u power and RAM that means not suitable for
older systems or barebone systems. Also there are some complaints about webcam
support features.
Even though there are some enhancements like direct access to Launch cast stations,
stealth setting mode, new animated smiley faces, emoticons and audibles but these
pros couldn't outperform the cons associated with the version. Version 5.6 is still
better than this version. Overall
, its a sucking, absurd version with nothing
new and groundbreaking. Not recommended at all. Take a backup of your version 5.6 installation guys because probably it will delete that also during installation and who knows you might require that later.
