There are quite a few of these emulators for the snes mainly due to it's sucess abroad. If you used to love the likes of Mario 3 and have long ago thrown away the snes, fera no longer! This piecwe of software turns your PC into a brilliant snes. This is by far the best version of Snes emulator the others just don't have as many features. This makes it possible to use your joystick (or gamepad) and play using it to enhance the experince. Also it allows you to save absolutly any where in a game. And unlike the real Snes there is no restriction on the amount of saves you can store. There are roms (games) for all the classics such as Mario Paperboy etc. If you ... Read the complete review

Coming in a number of flavours from 9x, Linux and Apple mac this emulator is the most widely used for the super nintendo. because it is primarily DOS based on the 9x platform it is faster with its real mode operations than the virtual mode operations of specifically windows emulators. The latest version has the ability to be able to play roms directly through zip files without having to uncompress them first which is ideal for those short on disk space although this has great adverse affects to performance in gameplay. No emulator could be complete without the ability to save states and Zsnes is no exception. This is one of the most updated and ... Read the complete review

I admit it. I'm new to all this emulation stuff and before I read an opinion on dooyoo (cant remember who it was by) I didn't have much of a clue with what I was doing and how much it worked. So to say I was a novice was really a bit of an understatement. I do however, admittedly, have a good knowledge of computers in general so this assisted me greatly. After reading the dooyoo opinion I went to the site of ZSNes and downloaded the DOS edition of the emulator - easy so far. The download was quick from what I can remember and running the file through WinZip uncovered the emulator itself as well as a few notepad files and all the rest of the stuff you may ... ZSnes is a SNES emulator supported over multiple Operating Systems. It has 5-player support, is highly compatible with most ROMs and it can even read (both PAL and NTSC) SNES ROMs from Zip files. ZSnes has got lots of excellent features packed into it. You can change the video modes and enable graphic engines and graphic options (such as Interpolation, 2xSai engine and Hi resolutions Mode 7). You can disable sound, which is very useful if a ROM has buggy or bad music. You can assign keys for different functions (e.g. loading, saving a state) and there is also a feature that allows you to play over the Internet with other people. You can use cheat codes when ... If you are into emulation, then you wil probably heard of Zophar's Domain. It has got over 1,500,000,000 hits you know. Anyway, if you have been there, and you have downlaoded something, it will have been an emulator. Otherwise there is no point downloading anything else becasue it won't work. So, if you downloaded a SNES emulator, and it wasn't ZSNES, then you have made a horrible mistake. This is by far the best, and beats the famous SNES 9x, which is extremely popular within the emulation world. The graphics can be the same if you want them to be. Or you can use the double eagle engine, 2xSai engine or super 2xSai engine. Maybe the Super ... Read the complete review
