Strangers tend not to kick the neighbours cat. In recession that statistic gets a whole lot worse and we have already seen a 60% rise in the abandonment of domestic pets to Britain s streets and the local charity pounds, up from 7,347 in 2007 to 11,586 dumped last year, according to the RSPCA. Shares are different because the normal profits are yours via dividends, therefore over time shares must out perform other asset classes. Businesses are intelligently designed to grow and to generate revenue, where as other assets are static companies can adapt; silver bars will not revise their properties so as to appeal once again to the photography market but a silver miner can elect to diversify and so survive. If you assume buying equities will not be profitable you are betting that entrepre...
