Advantages: good interest rates

Disadvantages: need more than £50 in your account to recieve interest

The halifax current account is by far and away the best current account on the market at the moment, taking into account both banks and building societies.
The interest rate which it uses at 4 per cent is significantly higher than pretty much every other standard bank or building society.
It is even possible for under-18's to open one and recieve a debit card and a cheque book. The debit card that is issued is the solo.
The main drawback about the account is that you can only recieve interest if you have more than $50 in your account.
When you first apply you recieve a A4 folder, a book to keep cheques in and a wallet to keep cards in, this is not as good as what other banks offer but who cares?
