this is a tale of how not to be stung, i'll be brief, i read all the blurb in the press on this when it was launched and decided to get a card, so i applied, got said card, the idea being that the card can never be used to fleece your bank as its like a phone top up card, when its empty its empty. Blurb said you can go to the post office and 'top up'. What blurb doesn't tell you is that it takes 2 DAYS for it to 'appear' on the card, so you can imagine my embarrassment the following day after sticking 20 quid on it, nipping down my local kwik save doing a bit of shopping and the cheerfully presenting said card to cashier who after putting it in the machine said oh, we don't take these anymore THEY'RE OBSOLETE (as everything now is CHIP and PIN and these cards are not). So I had to leave everything there and walk out hungry.

So pissed off was I that I complained to them, and (eventually) they got back to me, i was that miffed i cut the card up and plonked it in the post back to them asking for my money back as I hadn't used the card.

I got back all of 11 quid from 20? So who spent the 9 quid or so?

Admin charge and a monthly fee (a fee for doing jack all in this case)

So, avoiod these cards they're not what they're cracked up to be, totally INFLEXIBLE, the cash doesn't appear immediately on them, so you can't top up on Thursday morning and go out on Friday night.

Horrific customer services, attitude problem and as far as I am concerned modern Dick Turpins, only they just take the money, plus the residual amount took bloody ages to come back.

Not my idea of a great pre-pay product, plus it cannot be used on-line either as I tried to top my orange phone up too and as the cards don't have an expiry date orange wouldn't (after 40 minutes of me going red with anger) accept it.

NEVER USE - CROOKS and decietful charges if you want to cancel within the first month. Rip off, nothing else I can say
