Stephoohla My Experiences and Advice: ... ve been a secretary for just over a year now. Let me tell you about my experience. I didn t go to uni. There was primary school, high school, sixth form (which I only did because my parents expected it of me) and that was me done. I didn t enjoy studying, and I hated exams. I actually got pretty great GCSEs and came out of sixth form with 3 A Levels and 2 AS Levels, between B and D grade, so fairly good. My real d...

lemonjim Tae Kwon Do
... have done several martial arts before and hands down Tae Kwan Do is the best of all of them. I started mainly because of my obsession with the martial arts films such as crouching tiger. Other reasons were because I really needed to get fit and that a couple of my friends were doing it also. But mainly, I wanted to move like a ninja. I started when I was 15 and as far as things go it was a good age to start. Although I always thought Kung Fu was far more interesting with the emphasis on Chi and inner strength being a very intriguing aspect for someone involved with such Western Values. Tae Kwan Do is a very quick and there is a lot of muscle building as well as a h...

snow_white_forev University of Exeter Student Union in general
... am just about to start my second year at Exeter, and loving every second. It is impossible to escape the presence of the Student Guild (what we call our student union) - especially during the election process! Overall I believe we have one of the most personal, welcoming and exciting students union, which in my opinion is partially due to the very high student vote, turn out each year. Who is the Guild? The guild is elected by the student body to represent us and improve our Exeter experience; for example organising fantastic unique fun events or providing support in finding employment, and helpful advice. The guild consists of six Sabbatical Officers: The President...

worst_trip My Experiences and Advice
... write this from the rather jaundiced personal viewpoint of being a failed research scientist, so I feel well qualifed to comment certainly on the cons of this particular career path . Having graduated top of my class with a first class degree in the hopelessly useless but very interersting subject of zoology, I went on to complete a PhD on - essentially wildlife management - which was funded by a three-year university scholarship. Unfortunately the PhD took me five years to complete - which is not at all unusual in this field, where obtaining data is often strongly dependent on seasonal working. My university fees had been paid by the original scholarship, but there...
