"A cracking time had by all" was the only conclusion my friends and I came too at our graduation this year from Soton. With one of the biggest selection of clubs and societies to join there's not much that you wont find here.If it doesn't exist that they'll help you establish it. There aren't SU facilities at all seven of the various campus' spread over Southampton and Winchester, however. The main hub of student activity is at the main Campus Highfield with a large SU building and very modern fascilities. Following critisism I have doubled this piece. To start with New College (Previously known as LSU) is at the bottom of the Avenue about 25 mins walk from the University. I've been in Southampton for over 4 years now. During my first year I stayed in halls at LSU. I was known as Firestarter and all the ladies wanted to know why. However it was nothing more exciting than a drunken evening at Kareoke. Pubs. Well you couldn't ask for more Pubs. Over 30 just in the town centre. I always feel that disco is a place which is very smokey, unsafe, messy, and not worth-to-go at all. In addition there are always fights happened in disco especially when some of the people get drunk. Furthermore I dislike noisy music which really hurt my ears. I thought I will hate disco for my whole life and I don't think I will go there in my entire life. However after being persuaded by a friend of mine, I finally stepped in The Academy - a disco for mainly students of Southampton, over 18. I know I am wrong about disco from then. And, I like disco. This pub is just a few metres away from the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton. It is a strategic locations for students and staffs to get their lunch apart from the standard restaurants in the University. The atmosphere in there is excellent. You get to meet other students and staffs as well. There is a wide variety of selections of beers and drinks available. Food wise, it is the best! My personal favourite is the chicken fajitas. Though the overall price of the food there is about £3.00 but they comes in abundance and tasty. There is plenty of tables and chairs so that you don't have to stand.
