Graeme Smith became the first South African captain for 40 years to lead a winning national side in England after sealing the four test series in grand style at Edgebatson, grinding a brilliant gutsy hundred to chase down the highest ever fourth innings total in a test at the Birmingham ground. Smith likes scoring runs in England, securing the man-of-the-series here with two hundreds. He and his team have outplayed Vaughan's boys all summer and the so the 'ex' England captain had no choice but to resign, the honorable course of action by a true Englishman.
