I have been curling now for a long time and there is only nine people in wales who represent wales and i am one of them.

Curling is played on a ice rink with four people on a team. The object of the game is to throw (or curl) the stone towards the centre of the house (a ring inside a ring inside a ring). the people each throw two stones.

When someone is throwing there are two people sweeping and the skip (captain) is in the house giving commands.

The object of the game is to get more stones in the house than the opposition. The nearer the centre of the house the better.

The point of sweeping is to make the stone go faster or for it to maintain it's speed. When sweeping the bristles movement creats friction which creats heat there fore melting the ice forcing the stone to move foreward. The broom is the most important part of curling, you use it at all times.

The skip stands inside the house, tells the thrower what he wants and then puts his broom where he wants the thrower to aim for. Then to put a curl on the skip holds out his hand telling the thrower what way to turn.

I play for wales and there are six of us, me, Joe, richard, tom, alastair and carl. Tom or I play as skip, joe is third (vice skip), carl or alastair go second and richard plays lead.
