Hull has many many sports societies, many of which are very sucessful and bring home regular trophies. Every year the annual Athletic Union Fair is held where all the teams are represented and you can sign up for the sport of your choice, it costs about £7 for each team you join, this goes towards equipment and pitch hire and also covers your insurance. Wednesday afternoons are traditionally when practice is held for the majority of teams. The university has a large area of pitches and astroturf available for practices. Hull University has a massive Athletics Union which has a comprehensive list of sports, thereby catering to all students. Its annual AU Bazaar allows all students to grill prospective clubs, find out what they do, how often they do it, and what it costs. All the AU clubs are run by dedicated students, usually 3rd years, who have been elected by their peers and have a single minded dedication to making their club the best it can be.
