Advantages: With 7 different areas there is something for everyone

Disadvantages: Limited space in most bars can get quite cramped

Not being a student at Aberdeen University myself (I am studying at the other of Aberdeens great universitys Robert Gordon)I feel I can give an unbiased opinion on there union. And sad to say it's much better than RGU union for a night out, for a start it is much bigger and is split up into different bars. The main areas in Aberdeen union are:

Seasons - Small open bar straight ahead as you enter the union. good for meeting friends.

Games Room - Downstairs from seasons, pool tables etc.

Liquid Loft - Bar/Club, has dance floor and often has guest DJs.

Sivells - To the left as you come in and up the stairs. Main bar in the union. Good drinks promotions during the week. Always packed on Fri. and Sat. nights.

Associates - Smaller bar next to sivells. Non-smoking quieter but nice relaxed atmosphere and quicker bar service.

The Dungeon - Downstairs from sivells, quieter bar, often has battle of the bands competition, reciently had Toploader playing.

The Factory - Mini club within the union. £3 entry fee, but well worth it for the drinks promotions, £1.50 vodka/red bull, £1.50 whiskey/coke etc. Usually good music with packed dance floor, Fri. & Sat. nights. Usually sell out tickets by 11pm.

Summary:
