There are a number of ways in which it is possible to enter nurse training, generally you are required to have at least 5 GCSE/GCE O levels at grades A-C before applications can be processed. Some universities stipulate that these results must include English and Mathematics and sometimes a Science subject. Some universities will accept students with an Advanced GNVQ in Health and Social care or an Access to Nursing course, others will accept mature students who have no formal qualifications but are able to pass a DC test, a general intelligence test which needs a high pass rate for the prospective student to be accepted.
